If you are a newbie, make in Microsoft word and save it as HTML. For graphics I guess MS Paint.

Well, if you don't have much knowledge of html and css then you will run into some trouble. Assuming you do know html and css, then I guess you could use paint to make the graphics but a program like photoshop or paint shop pro would give you many more options. My advice....don't use a myspace layout generator...they usually make the layouts look cheap and unprofessional. Check out a myspace layout site with premade ones to save yourself the hassle. http://www.hermyspacelayouts.com has some nice ones or you could google myspace layouts.
